What to do when an accident occurs?

1. Stop the car.

2. Call the police immediately and wait for their arrival.

3. Get the police report number and information.

4. Record information regarding the site of accident such as:

  • Witnesses' information
  • Other party's identification and insurance information
  • Take photos of the scene before any objects are removed

5. Notify insurance company as soon as possible and fill in the accident report form (generally, it is required to notify the insurance within 7-14 days).

6. If you receive a letter from the police or other party, pass it to the insurance company immediately.

7. Without the consent of the insurance company, do not sign a settlement with the other party or admit to any legal liability or make any forms of compensation on the spot.

8. Remember to safe keep all original relevant documents for records or follow-up in the future.
